Physical Literacy for Early Childhood Educators Part 1 (PLECE 101): This workshop focuses on providing early years staff (ECE staff, supervisors, managers) and parents with an increased understanding of physical literacy development in young children (0 to 5 years). You will learn what physical literacy is and why it is important to develop in young children, understand the relationship between brain development and physical literacy and learn how relationships, environment, activities, and equipment can support physical literacy development.
Outcomes:
-Introducing key concepts such as physical activity, active play, fundamental movement skills and physical literacy and why they matter
-Providing a sample of ideas and activities that fit within the standard
-Providing information about upcoming initiatives and resources that are intended to increase the capacity of managers and staff to develop policies, practices and environments that meet the standards

Inclusive Physical Literacy Part 2 (PL 501): The Physical Literacy 501 workshop will help participants to understand the importance of physical literacy development for participants with disabilities. This workshop will take participants through what universally accessible programs are and how to plan and create them. It will also help participants to develop their adaptations to fundamental movement skills to allow for different disability types to participate and have a quality first involvement experience.
